In 2003 concerned community members and owners of local nurseries organized the Kohala Coqui Coalition (KCC).
The goal of the KCC is simple, to keep North Kohala coqui free.
This website is produced in cooperation with the State of Hawai’i Department of Agriculture and the County of Hawai’i Department of Research and Development. We appreciate their support.
The Coalition is sponsored by the North Kohala Community Resource Center, a local 501(c)3 nonprofit and receives funding from grants and donations.
The KCC relies primarily on volunteers who donate their time and energy to treat infestation. Our Mission is broken into the three areas below.
Through our Community Forums, Media campaigns and the Coqui Hotline we strive to keep the Kohala Community informed and trained in our fight against Coqui frog infestations.
Our volunteer team uses the best available treatment methods to target areas of major infestations .
The Coalition helps organize, train and equip neighborhood groups to take the fight to frogs in their backyards.
